A Prestonian Lecture


On June 23, 2010, in “Stratos Vassilikos” Hotel, Athens,



W. Bro. Trevor Stewart,

WM of the Lodge of Research “Sir Robert Moray No. 1641” -

Grand Lodge of Scotland,

presented an abbreviated and revised version of his 2004 Prestonian Lecture :


English Speculative Freemasonry and the Enlightenment:

some preliminary findings


and answered to a series of questions by Greek brethren.


After the lecture, dinner was served to about 50 guests.






On March 19, 2010, in “Stratos Vassilikos Hotel”, Athens,
Mrs Eveline Durie, Licence in Archaeology and History of Art, ULB, Ph.D in Political Science and History, Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, Athens,
presented a lecture titled:

The Greek Freemasonry in Europe at the turn of the 19th century.
From the French Revolution to the eve of the Greek Revolution of 1821.


Mrs Eveline Durie presented the lecture using visual material
and answered to a series of questions asked by the audience.




Concert of ancient Greek music



On Saturday, February 27, 2010,

a concert of ancient Greek music was organized
in the premises of the Athens Archaeological Society.

The general topic of the concert was:

“Greek music through the ages – from ancient times till today.”


“LYRAVLOS” group,
using self-made replicas of ancient Greek instruments
played a number of ancient themes, tradidional folk themes
and modern music themes
proving the continuing evolvement of Greek music through the ages.






Lecture on an esoteric subject



On March 27, 2009 
a lecture was organized in a hall of "Stratos Vassilikos" Hotel.
Researcher Mrs Sasha Chaitow
MA on Western Esotericism in Exeter University
adressed the subject: 

The symbolical View and the Esoteric Functions of Mind.
The Alchemical Iconography of Michael Maier’s Atlanta Fugiens as an Initiatory Path




Lecture on Japanese Freemasonry



On June 23, 2008, 
in a hall of "Stratos Vassilikos" Hotel,
researcher Mrs. Pauline Chakmakjian
presented her paper:
"50th anniversary of the Grand Lodge of Japan"


The lecturer answered to a series of questions asked by the audience.

Dinner was offered in the dining room of the hotel.







On December 14, 2007, 
a lecture on Rosslyn Chapel was organized in Ledra Marriot Hotel,.
The Grand Master of the NGLoG spoke first, and the Grand Secretary presented the lecturer.

WBro. Robert Cooper is an experienced Freemason, curator of the Edingburgh musum and library,
researcher and author of a number of books and articles.


The lecturer offered his own point of view on Rosslyn Chapel, which is definitely different than that of several well-known books, such as "The Temple and the Lodge", "Hiram's Key" and the famous "DaVinci Code".

A number of questions were asked by the audience and answered by the lecturer. 



Piano Recital


On Saturday, February 24, 2007, a piano recital was organized in "ATHENAIS" cultural center.
Composer, maestro and pianist
WBro. Robin Moustoxidi- Stone
performed music parts of Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Wagner, Liszt, Mussorgski, Gershwin
and some improvisations of his own on specific notes sujested by the audience.



Event dedicated to Mozart




As the 250 years since the great Composer and Freemason Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 - 1791) were celebrated all over the world, 
the Committee for Publications, Library and Art of the NATIONAL GRAND LODGE OF GREECE,
organized an event titled : 


 «Brother Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: 250 years since he was born»


This was held in "Royal Olympic" Hotel on February 13, 2006.


The following topics were presented:

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Biography and Work.
The music Mozart and its effects on Psychic Health and Masonic Ceremonial
The inner meaning of the “ Flute”


The string quartet "ECHO" performed the following parts of the great composer:
“Eine Kleine Nachtmusik”, Κ 525,
Divertimento 1, K 136
String Quartet, K 155

This cultural event was quite successful. 
The net profit was offered to the "Greek Music Laboratory" of the Ionian University (in Corfu) 
to be used for publishing works of the Greek composer Nicholas Halikiopoulos-Mantzaros,
in the bilingual series "Modern Greek Music Monuments".


Lecture on Greek Mythology 

On November 14, 2005, in "Parnassus" Philosophic Club,
author, civil engineer Dr. Leonidas Logothetis, Past Grand Master
gave a lecture on:

 "Metaphysical Beliefs in the East and the West"
